New York Power Authority Associate Project Engineer in Buffalo, New York
New York Power Authority (Buffalo, NY) seeks Associate Project Engineer to support goals of improving aspects of design, engineering and the installation of new or innovative energy technologies in New York State. Work with internal and external customers to develop multiple end-use engineering projects, incorporating new and innovative electrical engineering technologies to maintain facilities, support customers, and implement New York State energy goals. Support and implement multiple engineering projects and modifications concurrently. Prepare engineering calculations, estimates, cost analyses, specifications and design drawings. Evaluate project scope; review feasibility reports; make presentations and recommendations. Develop engineering design documents and specifications; evaluate bid results and make recommendations for contract awards; support field engineers in negotiating change orders to construction and services contracts. Keep abreast of the latest technological developments, products and revisions to project input parameters related to electrical engineering. Represent NYPA at local, city, state, and other official meetings and at customer, vendor and design meetings, contractor walk throughs, and make presentations to customers. Perform occasional travel to various unanticipated locations in New York State to interact with clients on short- or long-term assignments. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and thirty (30) months of electrical engineering experience, to include experience with building mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience using industry software including AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Oracle Primavera.
