Summary:
Responsible for day to day shift operations of department and department workflow. Independently coordinates functionality of all Sterile Processing Technicians on the assigned shift and the shift that follows. Supports duties of the Central Service & Supply Manager in his/her absence. Communicates any operational or associate issues/concerns to Manager, proposes solutions and independently resolves issues/concerns when possible. Responsible for participation in department quality improvement activities, data collection and supports implementation of quality improvement initiatives, processes and practices. Assists with inventory management. Responsible for modeling and performing all Sterile Processing Technician duties.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED
Current and sustained certification as either a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required
Required to maintain at least Ten (10) hours of continuing education annually
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year surgical tray and case cart experience required
Two (2) years supervisory experience in a sterile processing environment preferred
Employees hired into a Lead Sterile Processing position prior to January 1, 2015 are required to maintain 10 hours of continuing education annually
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Knowledge of operating equipment
Reading, writing, communication skills
Computer skills helpful
