CTG Technical Engineer I in Buffalo, New York

Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer I opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

Serves as junior technologist for an individual technology or set of technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Technology management, more experienced Engineers, and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage the design, development, and execution of technical solutions that meet or exceed current and future needs of the organization.

  • Responsibilities may include infrastructure review, implementation, and design, creation of support and user-based documentation, standards, policies, analysis, and testing.

  • Interact, as part of a team, with technical peers and management on a regular basis to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements.

  • Facilitate meetings and conference calls with vendors, internal staff and senior professionals.

  • Create documentation, proposals, and analysis per direction of senior staff, project staff or others.

  • Seek to expand knowledge and understanding of financial services trends, practices, and technologies on a continuous basis.

  • Follow and promote use of industry best practices, standards and procedures.

  • Maintain a solid understanding of a specific system or service at the department level. Work with senior technical staff and management to modify, update, and change systems as assigned.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Company brand.

  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • College degree.

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in a technical position.

  • Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high-quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches.

  • Demonstrated advanced technical skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a team environment.
