The role you’ll contribute:
The Pre- Surgery Holding RN practices as a professional nurse within the limits of the Texas Nurse Practice Act assuming responsibility and accountability for the surgical patients for a designated time frame utilizing skills, knowledge and the nursing process to ensure the quality of care provided and in harmony with the philosophy, goals and policies of the Nursing Department and hospital administration.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Assesses patient and family needs to provide necessary data to health care team to ensure quality total care.
· Completes gathering of data to analyze and make assessment of nursing needs to formulate the initial nursing care plan including discharge plan.
· Identifies and reports abnormalities or instabilities of the patient’s condition to anesthesia or surgeon, after admission assessment.
· Observes and assesses each assigned patient during their stay in outpatient surgery department.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
· Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the state of Texas or in a qualifying compact state.
· Experience with surgical patients
· BLS
· ACLS
