Overview
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for ensuring the maintenance organization is readily prepared for the operations journey. He or she is also responsible for growing the technical capability of operations leaders, operators and eliminate root causes of equipment breakdowns.
Responsibilities
· Drive Daily Management Systems to deliver improved results every shift, every day.
· Ensure any safety / quality / food safety condition issues that require parts or planning are resolved quickly.
· Own the maintenance plan for the line – appropriate PMs, quality of PMs, PM execution, PM tracking & continual improvement. Identifying the needs so Maintenance Planner can schedule.
· Participate in the operational reviews (shift hand-off, shiftly ops review, daily ops review) – take appropriate actions.
· Eliminate technical barriers for the line teams to achieve results.
· Partner with the line leader to drive Continuous Improvement of systems and results.
· Successful delivery of initiatives
· Develop individual capability in Progressive Maintenance (PM) standard work processes – Maintenance Planning & scheduling and Breakdown Elimination
· Using problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate issues.
LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
· Coaches line operators on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Tour Leadership (Coaching team on standards execution)
· Department level system ownership (could also own a site level system)
· Be a coach for the teams on the use of GPS (IWS) tools to solve problems (Why, Basic Problem Solving, etc.)
· Escalate issues that need further attention properly.
· Demonstrate the GSF Creed and Values
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Up to 18 months of post high school education in engineering or electronics from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college
Experience:
3-6 years of relevant work experience in a food-manufacturing environment with lead or supervisory experience
Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):
Electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, pneumatic, boiler, and other systems (J)
Maintenance in a manufacturing environment (B)
OSHA, USDA regulations (B)
Language Skills:
High level of reading comprehension
Ability to write detailed correspondence and documentation
Ability to use effective problem solving skills
Read diagrams and blueprints
Interpret maintenance anomalies or irregularities and identify appropriate solutions
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to utilize complex mathematical formulas and ability to relate scientific theory to real world work processes
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing
Stand/walk 8 or more hours per day
Constantly twist/turn and talk/hear
Frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks
Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:
Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments
Constantly work near moving machinery
Constantly work in cold (35-40 degrees)
Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
Machines/Tools/Equipment/Software:
Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.
Rubber and cotton gloves.
Knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible for
Advanced level of computer skills
