What You-ll Accomplish

The Senior Manager, Category Analytics is responsible for leading category management and retailer insights within the commercial team. Overseeing a team of analysts and collaborating cross-functionally with various departments, this individual will play a crucial role in shaping sales strategies, optimizing business performance, and driving growth through data-driven insights. They will be the business partner that provides deep category knowledge working with internal and external stakeholders, driving insights and actionable plans. The analysts who report to the Senior Manager, Category Analytics work within their assigned channel teams to leverage retailer and syndicated data and shopper insights to deliver strategic alignment and drive execution across the omni channel shopping environment.

This position is based out of our Burlington, MA headquarters location, where we work a synchronized hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remotely each week.

Our Senior Manager, Category Analytics will be accountable for the following areas:

  • Leadership of data analysis: Lead the team in identifying, consolidating, analyzing, and understanding business trends. Driving Insights into overall category and business drivers

  • Business intelligence: Convert data into actionable business intelligence that will drive revenue and profit across the commercial team. Ability to create best-in-class selling stories and category direction.

  • Manage stakeholder needs through the articulation of the category and retailer dynamics. Inclusive of ability to present in front (external retailer and internal senior leader facing) and creation of board-facing materials

  • Consumer and Retailer Trends: Analyze and validate consumption and point-of-sale data through the sale-s fundamental lens (assortment, merchandising, pricing and promotion for both the competitive set and Wellness) to ensure an understanding of category and trends that inform commercial strategy by building a best-in-class approach through assortment optimization and shelf placement (JDA)

  • Consolidation of Business Channel Analysis: Analyze business channel performance, including sales/share, brand and retailer performance to enable the optimization of commercial strategies.

  • Post-Promotional Analysis: Conduct post-promotional analysis (ROI, Cost to Acquire, Lifetime Value) and share the findings with the commercial organization to improve future promotional efforts.

  • Data Source Ownership: Utilize multiple data sources, such as syndicated (IE Nielsen) and customer-provided consumption data, for analysis and trend identification. This includes owning the evolution of the commercial, one source of truth, reporting. In collaboration with the IT team, providing guidance on Power BI and managing the syndicated data partnerships

  • Team Management: Champion business needs for specific accounts by training, coaching, and developing the analyst team to meet objectives.

  • Market Intelligence: Communicate crucial market, trade, and competitive information in a timely manner.

    In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who possesses:

  • Bachelor-s degree in business, or a related degree

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to drive results

  • Experience with Syndicated Data such as IRI (Circana), Nielsen, as well as customer-provided point of sale (POS) data

  • Successful experience managing and ensuring compatibility of large data sets across multiple platforms

  • Proven ability to drive insights across a commercial organization

  • Expert-level skills using Microsoft Excel, Power BI (or like system)

  • Well-organized and able to manage multiple competing and shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Sees challenges as opportunities
