SERV Behavioral Health System Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) - Youth I/DD in Burlington, New Jersey
SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services.
We are currently seeking Board Certified Behavior Analysts to plan, develop, and monitor behavioral support options for clients diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The BCBA will evaluate behaviors, design a behavior plan, and implement environmental modifications to produce socially significant improvement in behavior.
JOB SUMMARY:
The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with staff, clients, CMO, and parents. Must be able to model and implement behavior strategies to support staff and clients struggling with behavior. Must exhibit sound judgment in dealing with difficult behavioral incidents and make decisions independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis, which includes knowledge of behavior management techniques, data collection, and ethical considerations during treatment.
Complete comprehensive functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
Develop materials and provide resources for behavior interventions to be used by staff and parents/guardians.
Work collaboratively with families, CMO, group home staff, and other professionals to promote positive client behavior using Positive Behavior Support principles.
Provide training in the use of data collection, positive behavior supports intervention techniques and instructional methodologies for staff.
Attend IEP/Child Family Team (CFT) meetings, or other meetings as necessary and provide related behavioral information.
Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and management as assigned/needed.
The ability to work with clients who exhibit maladaptive/unexpected behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with such clients.
Travel to group home sites as required for observations, functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, or programmatic recommendations for individuals as assigned/needed.
Provide consultation through teaching, observation, and feedback using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis as assigned/needed.
Ensure that services are rendered by all safety regulations, Federal and State regulations, corporate policies, and guidelines for ethical standards.
Monitor treatment progress and effectiveness regularly, maintaining high rates of progress.
Complete reports and other paperwork within the established timeframes.
Complete other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:
Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, special education, or social work.
Active BCBA certification or licensure.
One year of experience in working with developmentally disabled persons involving applied behavior analysis and behavior modification preferred.
Must be 21 years old, driver’s license in the state of residence with no suspensions or moving violations in the past year and have no more than 5 points on your driving record.
Must be able to complete a physical, drug screen, and background check.
License Requirement:
- Active BCBA certification or licensure.
