Posting Summary
Our Program Coordinator position brings to life the primary goals of the Gaming Collective Learning Community by developing and implementing a wide array of co-curricular programming while working with faculty, staff, and their learning community students.
Duties include using a curricular approach to plan and facilitate events and programs, support student leadership, develop service-learning and community service opportunities for students, serve as a liaison between the Learning Community and other University departments and community organizations, assist with marketing, and supervise work-study students. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gaming Collective Learning Community, in collaboration with the Gaming Collective Program Director, and their partners in the Residential Education Unit (e.g., Residence Directors, Area Coordinators, Resident Assistants) and Housing Operations (e.g., Office Managers).
Work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team, while working and communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds. These duties are in addition to the support of other large-scale departmental and divisional programmatic efforts including, but not limited to: All-Residential Learning and Academic Engagement Unit programming, Midnight Breakfast, UVM GO, logistical support for community-specific programming, and other efforts that support the mission and vision of the Department of Residential Life.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree or 1-3 years’ related experience.
Desirable Qualifications
Education and/or experience with and/or interest in a broad array of gaming platforms/activities. This could include an academic concentration and/or work experience in game design, computer science, graphic design, or related field.
Anticipated Pay Range $37,583 to $51,333 (11 months)
Other Information
This is an 11-month position with the month of June off. Standard work week will be M-F, 10 am to 6 pm, with option to flex hours as needed to support on campus programming efforts.
Depending on the final pay rate determination, this position may be filled at a non-exempt level per FLSA regulations.
Residential Learning and Academic Engagement at the University of Vermont are a partnership between Residential Life and Academic Affairs and Student Success, where students live with other students who share an interest, take courses directly associated with their learning community theme, and participate in co-curricular programming to further connect students to faculty/staff and opportunities to explore their majors/career paths.
