Actalent Estimator in Burlington, Wisconsin
This position is responsible for managing the estimating team and ensuring they are meeting their objectives. This position generates accurate, on-time estimates in a clear, concise manner that meets client expectations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manages estimating team to generate accurate cost-based estimate.
· Work with Project Management to establish an accurate post job analysis.
· Develops and Administers policies and procedures related to the bid process.
· Reviews potential projects to bid and provides rough number of working days / completion date.
· Presents all bids for final submission.
· Schedule estimating staff to ensure that bids are created in a timely manner.
· Assigns responsibilities for estimating team on each project.
· Review project plans, contracts, and specifications and coordinate with the team to confirm complete scope.
· Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude.
· Review and analyze subcontract and supplier quotes for completeness and accuracy.
· Personally, will develop estimates for certain projects.
· Work with Client Contact to gather the necessary information about the project.
· Review Heavy Bid estimates for accuracy before presentation.
· Reports on different estimating metrics to understand the market.
· Reviews the “Scope” portion of contracts with the Project Manager.
· Facilitates all project handoffs with the Project Management team.
Education and Experience:
· 5 to 10 years of Construction / Estimating experience.
· 5 years of Management experience.
