Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer/EIT to be based in our Burnaby, BC office.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Design and specify distribution equipment and process instrumentation and control devices for various processes including municipal and industrial applications.
Provide electrical discipline leadership on small to mid-scale industrial projects under minimal supervision to ensure that engineering and design deliverables comply with applicable regulations, standards, and sound engineering practices.
Take direction from Project Managers, Leads, and Senior Engineers, and work closely with other discipline Drafters, Designers, and Engineers as a key team player for coordination and liaison of project deliverables under minimal supervision.
Strictly adhere to AECOM's project design and specification standards, including the capability of learning and adopting clients' standards and requirements as required.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical aspects of project documentation produced in accordance with AECOM QA/QC procedures and with the client's standards and expectations.
Ability to proactively participate, manage, and organize the activity of other less experienced or junior team members, provide supervision to designers and efficiently and effectively coordinate multiple work assignments and projects.
Ensure that project deliverables are produced in a timely manner to meet expected quality and allocated budget.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution.
2 years of related industry and engineering design experience in a multi-disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment or demonstrated equivalency of relevant work experience or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered as EIT or eligible for EGBC registration within 6 months
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
Proven track record in the design and production of tender documents such as P&IDs, single line diagrams, control and communication system diagrams, electrical hazardous area & grounding drawings, electrical and instrument location drawings, loop & schematic wiring diagrams; developing equipment load schedules, cable & tray calculations, instrumentation indices, standard details; contract specifications, electrical studies, and reports.
Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), and experience in low voltage, medium voltage, and communication systems
Must be able to produce and manage design deliverables accurately in a timely manner with a minimum amount of supervision
Proficient in using AGi32, EasyPower / ETAP, AutoCAD, or other design tools (AutoCAD P&IDs/Electrical, REVIT MEP) will be an asset.
Experience with Municipal Infrastructure Design or light industrial facilities.
Experience in tendering, construction service, start-up and commissioning, site supervision, and field inspection will be an asset.
Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion.
Capable of collaborating and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing for reporting to Supervisor and Project Managers/Leads, and with clients as required.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, ability to work independently and be flexible to perform work under tight schedules in a fast-paced integrated multi-disciplinary team environment.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $115,000.00.
