CITY OF BUTLER Wastewater Treatment Plant Lead Operator in Butler, Missouri
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the City of Butler Public Works Director, the WSWTP Lead Operator is a non-exempt position under FLSA which performs skilled and semi-skilled work maintaining, repairing, and operating the Watewater Treatment facility. This employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to operate equipment and tools, supervisory skills, and capable of following written and oral instructions.
Essential Functions:
- Operates various types of power drawn pumps, operating equipment, and related machinery.
- Collects and analysis samples of wastewater, sludge and effluent in order to meet NPDES or other Local, State and Federal regulations.
- Record keeping.
- Keeps equipment and facility clean and in working order.
- Capable of being on call for emergencies.
- File needed reports to Local, State and Federal agencies.
- Fiscally responsible for the operations of facility.
- Maintains a safe work environment for self, co-workers and public.
Promotes growth and development of subordinates with on the job training and safety training/procedures.
Marginal Functions:
- Assists other departments as need arises.
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.
