Principal Responsibilities: Directly manage critical and consumable inventory at the national warehouse and oversee inventory held locally in approximately 250 storerooms across North America. Ensure the safe, accurate and timely receiving and storage of all inbound materials or selection and loading of all outbound materials and ensure the safety and security of the entire facility. Ensure critical spares are properly stored, maintained, and reconditioned as required. Ensure annual audits are supported appropriately and any actions or findings noted are acted up on and corrected in a timely manner. Monitor inventory levels, provide guidance on inventory stocking levels based on usage and criticality, as well as recommendations for consolidation and stocking locations nationally. Manage both inbound and outbound shipments (including international shipments), and verify are they properly documented, arranged, and accounted for. Ensure spare part materials system is maintained in an efficient and timely manner to eliminate duplicates and ensure business requirements for spare part materials are met. Ensure visibility across the organization of required statistical and financial measures to ensure tracking of spare part inventory levels across the Messer organization to meet business and operating needs. Manage the internal sourcing program, including required periodic master data updates to ensure new inventory overages are identified, and other initiatives to contain growth in spare part inventory holdings above what is required for safe and reliable operation of Messer assets. Manage the maintenance and the physical condition of the warehouse facility, and ensure its equipment and infrastructure are following all Federal, State, Local, and Messer requirements. Why Messer? Education/Skills: Bachelor's degree (Logistics/Warehousing degree a plus) Minimum 10 years of operations and/or warehouse experience in industry or equivalent Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial/leadership role Other qualifications: Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and achieve results. Able to work independently with little supervision. Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures. Working experience with an EAM or Inventory tracking system, SAP preferred. Proven technical skills and working knowledge of industrial equipment. Six Sigma Certification in Warehousing a plus. Air Separation experience and knowledge a plus.
