Alexa is Amazon’s groundbreaking voice service designed for voice interactions. We believe voice is the most natural interface for interacting with technology across many domains. We are looking for a Team Manager to join our Information Data Operations (IDO) team in Los Angeles.
As a Team Manager, you will develop and manage Data Associates to support our speech and language technology. You have a passion for data, efficiency, accuracy, and coaching and developing others. You will lead a team of Data Associates and partner closely with Program Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Knowledge Engineers to ensure data quality and project demands are maintained week over week.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage job assignment of Data Associates on a day-to-day basis, monitoring performance on job adherence, volume, and quality
Support hiring and training of new Data Associates
Deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
Ensure productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a regular basis
Develop the work schedule for the week by balancing work across various workflows and/or navigating competing delivery priorities
Track quality and utilization metrics
Provide regular formal and informal feedback to Data Associates
Identify and help implement process-related improvements
Adapt quickly to keep up with changing project conventions and new projects
About the team
Information Data Operations (IDO) is a team of Data Associates and support staff who help make Alexa smarter and drive efficiencies for stakeholders. We do this by increasing the number of questions Alexa can answer, by improving the overall quality of the answers Alexa serves, and by providing stakeholders high-quality data to make informed, data-driven decisions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
1+ years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience directly managing and coaching people
Experience with project management and process improvement
Experience in understanding metrics and developing them, as required
Experience working with stakeholders and teams (especially technical) to execute on requirements, surface and mitigate risks to delivery, and develop processes and tools
Experience with accuracy tracking and development, throughput analysis and reporting
History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent collaboration and organizational skills
Exhibits extreme attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $101,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
