NBC Universal Content Insights Manager (Latam) in CABA, Argentina

The Regional Content Insights Manager is responsible for leading the Content Insights function of the Strategy & Insights department for all Latin America.  You will partner with the Director, Audience Insights and a team of Content Insights Coordinators and serve as an in-house consultant to the consumer-focused areas of the business (e.g. Programming, Marketing) and provide strategic recommendations to improve our audience performance across the region through the use of analytical tools, reports, and analyses.

 

Ideal applicants will be strategic thinkers and insights-producers, with a passion for media research, and enthusiasm for media/entertainment across all screens.

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direct supervision of Director, Audience Insights and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

  • Assist the Director in partnering with the heads of the content, marketing, and creative by providing them insights-based recommendations, including but not limited to: programming strategies, sizing markets for marketing initiatives, defining and understanding the viewer experience, helping optimize promo-planning campaigns, defining relevant reports and metrics that track U/X and subscriber retention on our Universal+ app, platforms performance consumption.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor the Content Insights Coordinators.

  • Be the expert in what are the latest audience trends that are driving viewership in each market (e.g. Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Central America) across all screens and platforms, keeping stakeholders up to date.

  • Have a thorough understanding on how programming rights work so that s/he can apply this knowledge to data analysis and provide cohesive recommendations to improve audience.

  • Identify, develop, update, and maintain the reports and dashboards NBCU needs by combining syndicated research data (e.g. Kantar IBOPE, TGI), first party data, and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).

  • Analyze the typical audience flow within channels or apps to optimize user experience and content discovery.

  • Help in the development of status presentations for the Board and management team.

  • Help determine and track the correct KPI’s to grow our performance appropriately.

  • Proactively foster an audience and data centric mentality among peers by educating them on all things related to media metrics and its best practices, as well as constantly sharing the latest insights.

  • Analyze subscriber and user behavior to gain insights into user acquisition/conversion, engagement, preferences, and trends.

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for optimization.

  • Serve as a representative of NBCU in industry research-related meetings where audience measurement methodologies are discussed, evaluated, and decided.

  • Manage relationship with key data partners in the region.

  • Turn external and internal data sets into stories for better product and market understanding companywide.

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Insights team to understand preferences, awareness levels and product features to provide recommendations to programming/content, creative & marketing teams.

  • Collaborate with the Sales Insights team to enrich their proposals with data via the many different tools we utilize.

Collaborate with the rest of the Strategy & Insights team and find opportunities of creating efficiencies among department peers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal), Portuguese is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, advertising, communication, data analytics, economics, management information systems, marketing, mathematics, media, or statistics, preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant research/insights experience required, media preferred including TV, cross platform, agency or consumer research (content insights is a plus).

  • 3+ years of managerial experience.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting a TV network group preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Advanced knowledge in Data Visualizations tools (such as Tableau and PowerBI)
