Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, Radiography and CT
Location: Calgary
Report To : General Manager, Assistant General Manger and staff Radiologist
Schedule: Full-time; Monday-Friday; flexible option for a compressed work week; after-hours may be required
VCA Canada Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Center (C.A.R.E. Centre) is welcoming a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join us. As a member of the Radiology-Diagnostic Imaging team, this role will report to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager; and the radiologist. This is an integral part of our continued growth and development at C.A.R.E.
Overall Responsibilities:
Prioritize our culture of safety within our Diagnostic Imaging Services.
Under the direction of the radiologist, provide radiographic procedures and CT scans on canine and feline patients at a technical level that ultimately will not require direct supervision.
Provide safe, quality care and services to our patients; upholding all policies and procedures of the department and the organization; maintaining the safe operation of equipment
Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited training program in Radiological Technology or equivalent
Preference will be given to technologists who have successfully completed the Computed Tomography Imaging Certification (CTIC)
Successful completion of CAMRT’s CT Imaging 1, 2, 3 courses and ability to obtain certification (preferred)
Minimum one year experience performing CT’s (preferred)
Minimum one year experience in General Radiology (preferred)
Previous or equivalent veterinary experience in a clinic setting is an asset but not required.

Operates or oversees the operation of radiologic medical imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images;
Assesses and evaluates radiographic and fluoroscopic images to ensure the highest imaging quality and verify that images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes;
Ensures that radiation safety measures and protection devices are used in accordance and in compliance with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff;
Adheres to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures as they relate to our patients and our employees;
Undertakes other related duties as assigned
