Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Field Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to provide expertise and technical assistance to a team managing ongoing operations on a complex project in Northwest Territories.

This position in Calgary but periodic travel (1 to 2 times per year) to a remote northern site would be required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee a team of professionals focusing on Site Investigation, Remedial investigation and feasibility study, Remedial Designs and Remedial actions

  • Manage site investigation and remediation projects of varying size and complexity, which would include supervision of junior professional staff and technical staff involved in the field investigations, budget control, client liaison and report preparation and review

  • Detail-oriented, team player with good written and oral communication, analytical, organization, delegation and time management skills

  • Preparation of proposals and cost estimates, contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, project organization, project management including accountability of cost, schedule and budget.

  • Serves as a technical leader and as a recognized expert in field of practice

  • Provides regulatory compliance consulting services as an authority in field of specialty

  • Prepares and presents technical papers and reports

  • May review and assist in compiling technical reports and documents prepared by others

  • Plans and directs interdisciplinary environmental projects of large scope and complexity.

  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.

  • Review and lead in compiling technical reports and documents prepared by others.

  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

  • Performs other responsibilities like functional management, mentorship and resource management associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in an engineering, environmental science or related curriculum to the assigned discipline

  • 12+ years of related work experience including experience as a task leader

  • A diverse background in environmental site assessment, remediation, risk assessment, building assessments, construction oversight and field sampling (soils, groundwater, and surface water).

  • Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.

  • Thorough understanding of CCME and applicable environmental regulations
