*Please note this position will be based out of Calgary, AB. Depending on the successful candidate, consideration will be given to individuals located in Winnipeg, MB as well. Applications will be accepted from both locations.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a key member of the Innovation and Business Transformation team, you will be responsible to map current business process and future states, and support gap, cost, benefit, and process analysis. The Analyst conducts needs analysis and documents the requirements for IS and business units, and supports project delivery through testing and deployment.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyse business problems and develop solutions;

  • Lead testing efforts, identify issues with respect to solution performance, communicate required changes to development team and track resolution;

  • Investigate issues raised by Manager, Business Transformation Services or project teams, and develop solution alternatives;

  • Review and provide recommendations on computer code, system logic, technical specifications, and database queries as required; assist with implementation of experimental technologies and innovation projects;

  • Provide process improvement expertise to project teams as required;

  • Communicate status of initiatives and problems to management;

  • Analyze data related to system and process performance issues to identify improvement opportunities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent experience;

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant railway or technology working experience is an asset;

  • Business analysis or project management certification, or equivalent experience;

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access);

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously;

  • Strong analytical ability including statistical methods;

  • Strong organizational skills;

  • Development or computer coding experience in modern technologies such as Python, Machine Learning, & AI;

  • Ability to manage conflict and conflicting stakeholder interests;

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
