PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As part of the Innovation and transformation team, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading Innovation lab experimentation and innovation council activities along with medium scale business transformation projects.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Create MYP planning and Technology Portfolio planning and execution;

  • Work with Business Transformation Partners to lead organizational planning, re-engineering and transformation initiatives (benefits management, program stakeholder management and program governance) for medium scaled business transformation initiatives;

  • Monitor the delivery of chosen/approved projects for cross-functional clients and ensures the solution delivered meets the business specification and enables benefits realization;

  • Lead Innovation council/ innovation experimentation projects working closely with MD- EA & Innovation lab;

  • Monitor and audit IS projects that will directly impact/influence business processes and provide inputs to Director Portfolio to call out risks/issues/impacts within steering committees/stage gates;

  • Provide regular cadence and status updates of projects in flights. Manage risk management initiatives including risk planning, execution and response development;

  • Manage and foster communication and collaboration between Business and IS, where necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering is a definite asset;

  • Project management (PMP or Scrum master certification is a must);

  • Prior railway experience is desirable;

  • 4 years or more of Project management with experience in AGILE and Waterfall methodologies;

  • Experience in leading innovation projects, design thinking labs and business projects;

  • Roadmap development, Innovation lab experience is preferred;

  • Account/customer relationship management;

  • Ability to work with the interface between IS and the business;

  • Ability to work with and communicate to any level of the organization;

  • Collaborative leadership;

  • Self-motivated and managed;

  • Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills;

  • Influence and persuasion.

Management Conductor Program:
