Quality Manufacturing Supervisor

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Quality Manufacturing Supervisor in Calhoun, GA to focus on the Twisting process at Plant D5 but may assist at D4 as well . The position will w ork closely with management and plant hourly associates to e nsure and oversee that all quality requirements and objectives of the final product are met.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize quality compliance through root cause investigation, continuous improvement, and data analysis.

• Give daily direction and lead ership to Quality Technicians as well as Shipping/Receiving at D5 . Assist associates in resolving any job-related problems or concerns.

• Provide an effective line of quality communication within the department.

• Update Standard Work procedures and train associates as appropriate .

• Track, chart, analyze, and communicate quality data.

• Research off quality issues as needed.

• Evaluate singles yarn performance in Twisting and provide feedback to Extrusion as needed.

• D etermin e grade of final product

• Participate and lead internal audits as needed.

• Conduct quality meetings as directed.

• Travel to customer and supplier plants to attend meetings, attend product reviews, and to deliver or pick up product samples.

• Meet with raw material suppliers both internally and externally and finished yarn internal suppliers

• Attend SYR and MTR reviews as appropriate .

• Other duties and assignments as directed by management.

  Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED

• Prior leadership experience within the last 3 years

• Previous manufacturing experience

• Strong communication , interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Proficient with basic computer software such as Google, Microsoft, Smartsheets , GLink , YSF, etc.

• Must demonstrate good math skills

• Must demonstrate good writing skills

• Must demonstrate the ability to work with confidential matters

• Actively participate in the Shaw SMS program

• Complete Supervisor training program

  Preferred:

• Previous Tufting and/or Twisting Experience

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
