Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position:
Maximize sales of Corning Optical Communications (COC) products within a territory of California and Nevada focusing on the AT&T account. Work across the supply chain with end users, consultants, contractors, and distribution representatives to position fiber optic solutions and execute a territory sales plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and manages a territory to maximize Corning revenue within the collective of the overall account strategy
• Develops and executes account and distribution program plans that provide the customer(s) with a fully integrated set of products, process, service, and technical solutions which draw on Corning’s total value proposition to meet specific business needs.
• Maintains frequent contact with the customer and other ancillary companies (channels, contractors, oem’s, design companies, trade associations) to identify, build and strengthen the relationship.
• Aligns the technical and sales capabilities of Corning’s resources with the customer’s needs and with consideration of individual interests, capabilities, and development needs.
• Provides support to sales team members in areas of expertise to support the overall develop of the account and Corning success
Required Qualifications:
• B.S. or B.A. degree preferred, technical discipline preference.
• 2+ years of sales experience. Marketing, product management or engineering experience may also apply.
• Industry product knowledge preferred
Desired Qualifications:
• Leverages broad knowledge of our products, solutions, and value proposition.
• Understands how Corning’s solutions provide value to customers, preferably AT&T
• Independent computer skills with Microsoft Office & Outlook, Salesforce.com
• Ability to express ideas in writing with clarity and brevity
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license.
• Travel required 75%.
• Work effectively with minimum supervision from a home-based office.

The range for this position is $71,667.00 - $98,543.00 plus an attractive variable compensation package. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
