Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Surgical Technologist I is to function as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in the capacity of a surgical technologist OR must have all of the following;

a) received practical education at St. John's surgical department within the last six (6) months

b) performance during practical education will be rated above average and

c) completion of Surgical Technologist training.

  • CPRBLS

Preferred Requirements

Recent hospital experience (0-2 years) and/or previous practice experience preferred.

  • Demonstrates basic skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.

  • Demonstrates ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery.

  • Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others.

  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused.

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately both in oral and written English skills.

  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs, unit based task forces and committees.

  • Seeks opportunities for improving job knowledge and skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to assume on call status as determined by department manager and according to department needs.

Pay Range

$30.60 - $38.25 /hour
