Shire Facilities Supervisor in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Responsible for the effective continuous support of Takeda Massachusetts’ QC, Research, Process Manufacturing and Utility systems.
Responsible for efficient and productive operations of GMP sanitization and site wide cleaning services, waste removal ,and recycling programs
Responsible for the effective operations of the day to day Facilities operations and Fast Response team providing real time around the clock facilities, metrology, and controls support to the ongoing manufacturing activities
Responsible for developing and managing associated budgets.
Represent the maintenance and engineering group during regulatory inspections and site initiatives

Job Function and Description
Responsible for optimizing resource allocation and prioritization of maintenance activities.
Ensure equipment availability is adequate to meet operational requirements.
Plans and coordinates major maintenance including scheduled plant shutdowns and project work.
Responsible for the evaluation of equipment performance. Initiates corrective actions for problems or deficiencies and initiates equipment redesign and alteration efforts.
Conducts scheduled performance reviews and assessments for direct reports.
Education and Experience Requirements
Extensive, progressive experience in Bio-pharmaceutical and/or related regulated industries in a management/leadership role.
Demonstrated knowledge of building mechanical systems and manufacturing process equipment.
Good working knowledge of applicable regulations and codes.

Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities within program areas.
Good working knowledge of plant utilities and building systems.
Skill in negotiating and administrating contracts.
Competency in regulatory and CGMP requirements

Makes critical technical decisions related to plant-wide facility issues and emergencies.
Provides direction in the operation and maintenance of critical plant equipment and systems.
Provides guidance to maintenance personnel.
Provides Facilities decisions on equipment performance and design improvements.
Internal and External Contacts
Coordinates maintenance activities with area management.
Actively participates in Validation and Engineering activities.
Maintains communication with contractors and supply vendors.
Other Job Requirements
Should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs.
Valid Driver’s license. Travel between all Shire HGT sites is required.
Incumbent will be required to carry a cellular phone and to be on call to support operations.
