Shire Financial Analyst - Internal Manufacturing/Supply Chain in Cambridge, Massachusetts

This position is responsible for supporting financial reporting and analysis for the Massachusetts Biologics Operations group and to include select cost of goods sold items related to manufacturing operations, functional and operational reporting, and decision support. Key job responsibilities include:

  • FP&A support to the Lexington Site Manufacturing function (Technical Operations)

  • Internal Manufacturing in Alewife and Lexington

  • Functional Spend Analysis – Actual vs Budget vs Latest Forecast, etc. and work with functional managers to review monthly spend and analyze variances

  • Other Ad Hoc reporting as outlined by manager

  • Month End Cost Accounting Close Responsibilities (for manufacturing operations)

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation for specified deliverables to support budgets, long range plans, and latest views (forecasts)

  • Support the MA Biologics Operations functional groups

  • Assist Finance team members with the annual standard cost setting process as needed for MA Biologics Operations

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, ongoing and future integration activities

  • Conduct flux analysis to analyze operational variances

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or country equivalent)

  • Demonstration of key finance competencies with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with financial planning and reporting and an understanding of management and cost accounting principles such as standard/absorption costing, manufacturing variances and GAAP/Non-GAAP financial metrics preferred

  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system, and knowledge of financial planning/reporting tools or willingness to train/learn

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills or ability to apply training knowledge quickly
