Microsoft’s Digital Security & Resilience division is at the forefront of protecting our company and customers. The office of the CTO in this division has a charter to drive conceptualization, definition & commercialization of security strategies, architectures & features that make step-function improvements in Microsoft’s security posture. While this team is deeply technical, our success relies on a strong culture and the ability to influence feature development teams, SecOps teams and other partner organizations at Microsoft. Come join us as a Principal Program Manager on a super exciting, fast paced, team-oriented crew, where the work has never been more critical and relevant.

You will play a critical role in defining problem areas & scenarios, identifying candidate technologies together with your amazing architect team, and stitching them together to solve customer pain points, all while ensuring that security standards are met or exceeded. These scenarios may include non full-time employee & partner company IAM strategies, enabling PII-based authentication using ultra-secure compute environments, etc.

You will collaborate with several partner orgs including product & service engineering teams, ensuring that the right security features and innovations are rolled out to meet our scenarios. Your ability to set well-defined KPIs and OKRs to focus the team, prioritize the volume of incoming requests and clearly communicate our plan with partners and customers will be vital to the team’s success. You will also develop and deliver concise and goal-driven presentations to senior management in Microsoft Digital as well as other product groups on a frequent basis.

Key responsibilities :

  • Explore new technologies as avenues to solve current pain points (from a security or productivity perspective)

  • Envison and implement success metrics & OKRs and delivery planswith architects.

  • Be a strong advocate for Security and improving the Security posture of Microsoft clouds

  • Drive implementation in close partnership with engineering teams, including prioritization

  • Gain trust and influence broad stakeholders including engineering teams, partner orgs and peers

  • Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Report progress in objective and concise formats to senior management, while providing recommendations to accelerate progress.

  • Creatively

  • resolve blocking issues, and innovate to resolve pain points.

  • Deliver technical and high-level data-driven presentations to internal and external audiences

  • Travel - 0%-20%


Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • 8+ years of experience working as an information security professional, technical program manager or similar engineering role.

  • 3+ years of experience in delivering impact in large, complex, cross-functional organizations and virtual projects.

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience.

Preferred, not required:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of cloud security, as well as security architectures.

  • Prior experience and working understanding of cloud-scale technologies.

  • Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications

  • Proven ability to build successful partnerships and drive complex cross-group collaboration

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, experience with presentations to senior leadership teams as well as customers

  • Passion for strategic thinking, making data-driven decisions and driving innovation.

  • Ability to apply creativity, critical thinking and be solution-oriented in a dynamic working environment
