SENIOR SUPERVISOR, MECHANICAL FACILITIES, Facilities-Facilities Operations-Repair and Maintenance (R&M), to manage--under the supervision of the Assistant manager of R&M--assigned team(s) in their provision of superior customer service and maintenance of all buildings and systems. Will also be responsible for providing leadership and ongoing supervision of all HVAC and instrument systems supervisors and for providing standby supervisory coverage on a rotating basis on weekends and holidays.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; master sheet metal mechanical license, wastewater treatment license. and refrigeration certificate; at least five years’ experience in building operations and maintenance service; supervisory experience in a repair and maintenance setting with oversight over mechanical, HVAC, and instrument technicians fields; direct experience with HVAC and instrument tech systems and operation; ability to direct a staff of tradespersons in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment, troubleshoot and determine building issues and recommend necessary changes, and interact with other trade groups and coordinate building repairs; proficiency scheduling and planning work; excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills; and experience with computers systems, CMMS programs, e-mail, and the internet. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. Job #24387-10Working Conditions: ascending/descending stairs; traversing the campus; moving about the job site and machinery to access equipment; remaining stationary for extended periods; working from ladders, scaffolds, and other above-ground locations such as roofs; wearing of personal protective equipment as required by the specific assignment; and exposure to dust, odors, fumes, high levels of noise, and temperature extremes. Work will be performed near steam and moving machinery, in tight areas and confined spaces such as manholes and crawl spaces, and with and around chemicals and solvents. Some work may be performed in research labs and animal facilities and outdoors in inclement weather.Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.9/5/24
