Nuclear Fuel Services Manager, Learning and Development in Cambridge, Ontario

We are currently looking for a Manager, Learning and Development to join our team!
Please note: This role is currently vacant and offers flexibility in work location, with candidates eligible to work in either of the Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, or Lynchburg, Virginia, United States office.
The Manager of Learning and Development is responsible for leading and overseeing BWX Technology Inc.'s training and development initiatives. This role encompasses the strategic design, effective delivery, and seamless execution of programs aimed at enhancing performance at individual, team, and organizational levels. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, Commercial Operations & Talent Management, this role supervises two direct reports in Canada (Cambridge, ON), with a dotted line to the Talent Management Coordinator in the United States and collaborates with the Talent Management Specialist.
This role requires a high degree of influence, as the incumbent must advocate for talent management programs and effectively communicate their benefits to stakeholders. The position involves translating data analytics from training into accessible presentation materials, managing global programs while respecting cultural differences, and fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). Strong communication with employees at all levels and skillful management of vendor relationships are essential for success in this position.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop and implement talent management programs aligned with long-term strategic goals.
Continuously evaluate Talent Management programs for improvement and best practice adoption, incorporating DE&I principles.
Manage global career development, professional development, leadership, and mentorship programs.
Oversee employee engagement surveys, identify trends, and develop resolutions to improve engagement and retention.
Collaborate with HR staff to support and advise managers on talent management activities.
Partner with HRIS for the implementation and management of SAP SuccessFactors Talent Management modules.
Drive the corporate competency model to enhance employee and leadership development, talent acquisition, and retention.
Incorporate change management principles into talent management strategies.
Emphasize employee learning and development with robust training programs and continuous learning opportunities.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through feedback and performance assessments.
Lead initiatives to create and maintain a high-performing learning culture.
Mentor and coach team members for ongoing development and readiness for future roles.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
8+ years in progressive Talent Management/Organizational Development roles.
Expert knowledge of competency modeling, training, assessments, and organizational development.
Experience with Learning Management Systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS, and online meeting platforms.
Strong commitment to integrating DE&I initiatives into talent management programs.
Vendor management experience.
Proven ability to lead a team of talent management professionals.
Ability to drive results with a process improvement mindset.
Effective collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Superior communication skills, fostering collaboration and influence across various levels.
Impeccable ethics, integrity, and discretion.
Strong analytical, coordination, change management, and project management skills.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[107,000]] and $[[156,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
