Job Summary

Leads all Non Destructive Test (NDT) efforts. If Level III, maintains and updates NDT qualification and certification programs. Acts on companys behalf in matters regarding NDT, including NDT program, procedures, inspections, inspection results and interpretation.

Primary Responsibilities

- - Ensure proper operation of all instrumentation, test and measuring equipment.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Direct daily work assignments for radiographic inspection personnel to meet quality, cost and schedule commitments. Provide guidance and assistance to subordinates in meeting schedules.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Provide oversight of all technical and compliance related aspects of NDT such as developing, qualifying and approving procedures, and establishing and approving techniques.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Serve as the plant Radiation Safety Officer.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Train, develop and certify NDT personnel to include the implementation of an existing qualification and certification process along with all related administrative tasks to assure current and future needs are met.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Administer the companys relative training courses. Maintain and update training plans as necessary.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Periodically review and assist in the update of certification examinations to ensure effectiveness.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Ensure compliance of NDT program with state, federal regulations and customer requirements.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Maintain and update state licensing records for changes in equipment and/or personnel.

Qualifications

  • Must possess technical skills, interpersonal skills such as good communication and writing skills.
  • Must be a team player, who can work independently and support all product requirements.
  • Must have a clear understanding of safety rules and regulations.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

Minimum of 7 years experience in Quality/Manufacturing/CI/Test/NDT processes (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

Radiography NAS410 and ASNT Level II / III certification

Experience as a Level III desirable.

Direct experience in NDT, including interpretation of radiographic images.
