Planate Management Group LLC Electrical Engineer (Madagascar) in Camden, New Jersey

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide support at the US Embassy Antananarivo Madagascar for a Densification project. This project involves specialized limited demolition and the installation of new systems furniture, along with the necessary electrical installations to support the updated office layout. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of this renovation/fit-out project by providing top-notch engineering and construction quality assurance. Your expertise will help monitor contractor performance, inspect electrical work, and ensure compliance with design documents.

Our salary range for this position, based on the market data, is $130k to $145k per annum (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical inspections of electrical work and monitor contractor quality control.

  • Review project drawings and specifications for compliance.

  • Ensure contractor adherence to design documents.

  • Inspect onsite construction for proper execution and compliance with electrical codes.

  • Conduct quality assurance tasks, including inspecting work, preparing punch lists, ensuring corrective actions, and reviewing materials.

  • Monitor the construction schedule and submit weekly progress reports.

  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety programs.

  • Resolve conflicts and evaluate submittal substitutions with engineering implications.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited U.S. university.

  • Must have a Professional Engineering License (PE).

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant construction project experience (excluding design office experience).

  • Active Final Secret, Interim Top Secret, or Final Top Secret clearance from DCSA; must obtain Top Secret clearance.

  • Must be able to read design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations.

  • Experience with high and low voltage equipment, as well as telephone and fire alarm systems desired.

  • Knowledge of International Codes and electrical codes for systems furniture installations.

  • Experience with electrical inspections, high and low voltage equipment, and telephone/fire alarm systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Strong background in construction management, project management, and supervision.

  • Familiarity with construction safety regulations (EM 385-1-1, OSHA).

  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
