Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator SPVR of Athletics and Recreation (facilities and events). The Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will oversee the Athletic and Fitness Center, managing all recreational, intramural, club sport, and group exercise programming. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Athletic and Fitness Center facility, including staffing, coordinating maintenance with Facility Maintenance Services and external providers, processing memberships and locker rentals, and scheduling events in collaboration with campus partners. Additionally, the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will develop and manage recreational programming activities, such as intramurals, club sports, and group exercise programs for the entire campus community. This role also involves supervising the Coordinator of Facilities and Events, who facilitates game day management and supports NCAA-sponsored sports programs. Furthermore, the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will manage the scheduling of all athletic facilities and serve as the department liaison to Facility Maintenance Services and the campus Events office.

The key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR include managing the day-to-day operations of the Athletic and Fitness Center, ensuring smooth operation through effective staffing, coordinating maintenance, processing memberships and locker rentals, and scheduling events. This role requires collaboration with campus partners to promote activities and initiatives, as well as forecasting and making budget projections. In partnership with the Athletic Director, the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will develop and implement recreational and facility policies consistent with university guidelines. Additionally, this position involves developing and managing recreational programming activities, including intramurals, club sports, and group exercise programs, for the entire campus community. The Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will supervise logistics and staff for game day management, operations, and personnel supporting NCAA-sponsored sports programs. This position also manages the scheduling of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities and serves as the department liaison to Facility Maintenance Services and the campus Events office. Lastly, the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR is responsible for performing other duties assigned to support the department's operations.
The Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will be required to exercise discretion and independent judgment daily in managing processes and competing priorities within the Division. This role involves thoughtful, tactful, and diplomatic management of sensitive situations with the campus community and external stakeholders. The Senior Program Coordinator SPVR has oversight and authority for all recreational programming and space delegation, assists with budget forecasting, and managing scheduling conflicts internally and externally.
The scope and impact of this position are campus-wide, as the Athletic and Fitness Center serves the entire campus community. The Senior Program Coordinator SPVR is integral to the daily operations of the Athletic and Fitness Center and collaborates with the Athletic Director to develop efficiencies and long-term operational goals for recreational, intramural, club sport, and group exercise programming. In partnership with the Athletic Director, the Senior Program Coordinator SPVR will develop and implement recreational and facility policies consistent with university guidelines and work closely with the Athletic Director to determine guidelines for achieving departmental, divisional, and university strategic plans.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Recreation administration and Facility management, plus two years of relevant experience.
