Location: Syracuse NY (Hybrid)

Salary: Starting 80K

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to lead clinical quality assurance and compliance efforts. The QAM will oversee audits, manage compliance programs, and drive quality improvement initiatives. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and knowledge of healthcare regulations. The QAM will also provide clinical supervision to Direct Care Staff (PCA/HHA/HCSS) and Registered Nurses, ensuring the highest standards of care are met across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Oversee and conduct audits (EVV records, participant files, personnel records) and incident investigations.

  • Develop and update policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.

  • Supervise and support Direct Care Staff and Registered Nurses, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.

  • Lead compliance training and internal/external audits, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Manage corporate compliance, chair the Corporate Compliance Committee, and maintain emergency readiness procedures.

Supervision:

  • Provide oversight, coaching, and training to Direct Care Staff and Registered Nurses.

  • Review and assess clinical documentation and develop patient care plans.

  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation of all RN and patient-related tasks.

Agency Consultation & Quality Improvement:

  • Stay updated on state and federal healthcare regulations.

  • Participate in Serious Incident Review and Quality Improvement Committees.

  • Recommend enhancements to clinical practices to improve patient outcomes.

Training & Documentation:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing training for staff, including in-home orientations and PCA/ACD classes.

  • Document and communicate changes in patient care plans, ensuring effective follow-up with care teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.

  • 2+ years of home care experience, with previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Medicaid systems, LHCSA regulations, and TBI/NHTD Waiver Programs.

  • Experience with audits, compliance, and quality improvement processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Medisked, EVV, and other healthcare software.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, clinical supervision, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide objective guidance.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurance.

  • Must pass all required pre-employment background checks and physical screenings.

  • Ability to complete continuing education and maintain a valid nursing license.
