Amentum Conflict Operations Plans Exercise Coordinator in Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii

Amentum is seeking a dynamic and innovative Conflict Operations Plans and Exercise Coordinator to provide coordination, planning, analysis, and integration support to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. The Conflict Operations Plans and Exercise Coordinator will support the USINDOPACOM Future Operations Division (J35) with coordination and execution of key Battle Rhythm events that enable the Commander’s Decision Process .

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational subject matter expertise in the management, coordination, and execution of J3 and J35 focused USINDOPACOM Operational Battle Rhythm events that feed the Commander’s decision process to include the Crisis Operational Planning Group, the Joint Effects Validation Board (JEVB), the Rules of Engagement Working Group (ROEWG), the Global Integration Working Group and Meeting, and the Future Operations Synchronization (FUOPS).

  • Conduct specific coordination with subordinate, peer, partner, and higher headquarters level conflict focused offices and agencies for the habitual integrated staffing of conflict activities in accordance with DOD and national security policies, military strategies, threat and intelligence assessments.

  • Provide assistance to senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM senior leader consumption.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the integration of Conflict requirements into the USINDOPACOM Joint Exercise Program and constructs. This includes the inclusion of appropriate operational approaches and crisis scenarios to facilitate full exploration and achievement of established exercise and training objectives.

  • Provide both mid-term assessments and short-term analysis of AOR events that may shape Operations, Activities, and Investments in the crisis space for USINDOPACOM.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree 8 years of relevant operational planning experience.

  • At least 10 years of combined experience managing complex programs and projects in support of the Department of Defense (DoD).

  • At least 5 years of combined experience working in military operations on an operational staff or at the tactical maneuver unit level.

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in military plans.

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting operations in the Indo-Pacific AOR.

  • At least 3 years of experience on a senior military staff (Combatant Command, Service Component, Joint Staff).

  • Knowledge of USINDOPACOM plans, policy, and strategy and an understanding of joint integration including linkages to parallel national interests and component command operations.

  • Experience working in or coordinating Joint Planning Groups (JPGs).

  • Experience conducting research on a range of topics and functional areas.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient at authoring analytical or policy documents.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and SharePoint collaborative tools.

  • Must have an Active Top-Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME)

  • Experience enabling the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Mission Analysis process, Joint Working Groups, and the Joint Effects Validation Board (JEVB).

The salary range for this position is $130K to $155K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
