Program Summary
The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignments at both ashore sites and ships. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard Squadron Supervisor to join our Team!
Job Summary
The Shipboard Squadron Supervisor oversees and directs shipboard maintenance activities within squadron of 7-9 ships to ensure the continuous maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment, including exercising of equipment. In this role you will have a strong, effective relationship with the customer, acting as the primary interface between all shipboard employees and the shipboard manager.
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance of all contractual matters for the respective squadron
Performs and coordinates maintenance and supply administration requirements.
Assign billets and perform administrative and management responsibilities to ensure an efficient operation.
Ensures MCMC functions are uniform and standardized within squadron
Provide technical guidance / assistance and make decisions where guidelines are not available.
Evaluates equipment performance and prepares reports including recommendations as required.
Trains personnel on equipment operations and maintenance and ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.
Exercises equipment and prepares documents as required.
Collects and consolidates all requests for data and ensures timely submission of reports.
Ensures all requirements concerning Statement of Work (SOW) obligations are performed aboard assigned vessel.
Complies with and ensures compliance with all MPF ISO-9002 policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
Must have an AA degree and/or course work toward a BS degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline and at least 20 years of directly related work experience in a maintenance/logistics environment 10 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
Must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
Requires completion of the GCSS-MC users and financial approvers course.
Must have completed a Maintenance Officer/Chief course, or equivalent.
Must have Working knowledge of general maintenance procedures for military tactical equipment and supplies.
Requires strong written and oral communications skills.
Can comply with established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
