Responsibilities

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 0600-1600 - 8, 9 or 10 hour shifts depending on the departments needs

No Holidays or Weekends!

Job Specific Responsibilities and Tasks: Duties may include but are not limited to :

Core Duties:

• Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other Government agencies for services.

• Independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and formulate and implement a treatment plan, identifying the patient’s problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and assistance needed, in collaboration with the patient, family and interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Independently conduct psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational and other diverse backgrounds.

• Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology.

• Implement treatment modalities in working with individuals, families and groups who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems to achieve treatment goals.

• Independently provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families. Must practice within the bounds of the license or certification.

• Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment.

• Participate in professional peer review case conferences, research studies, or other organizations required at the MTF.

Additional Duties:

• Perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.

• Work closely with clinical staff and/or base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs (addictions, stress management, group therapies).

• Provide therapeutic treatment and evaluation of patients in the Family Advocacy Program dealing with domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, as requested.

• Provide patient consultations requested by NHCP staff health care providers within guidelines established by the NHCP.

• Provide therapeutic treatment (as applicable) and evaluation of patients with Post (Traumatic Stress Disorder, Combat Stress Disorders and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Conduct collaborative evaluations to facilitate treatment planning for TBI patients.

• Provide input to medical board determinations and administrative separations as requested.

• Conduct clinical staff education when requested to enhance knowledge, understanding, and awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder, and treatment options for the management of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other combat related disorders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

• Degree: Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW)

• Education: Graduate from a School of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

• Experience: Possess a minimum experience of two years within the last three years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

* Security : Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

* Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

* Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Pay Scale: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location
