U.S. Marine Corps MOTOR VEHICLE DISPATCHER in Camp Pendleton, California

Summary You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE DISPATCHER in the Southwest Regional Fleet Transportation (SWRFT office, Maintenance Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. Responsibilities You will monitor all calls on the radio and transmit information as required to all mobile radio units in a field and those that are off-station. You will receive phone calls, emails, FAX and written requests for C-pool vehicles for passenger service, freight movement and other miscellaneous transportation requirements. You will handle all trouble calls and take corrective action as needed and/or immediately notify your direct supervisor; and report all vehicle breakdowns and ensure recovery operations go into effect. You will maintain a daily record of assignments to customers, which is determined by the frequency of issues each day, recording daily passenger, cargo weight and mileage information. You will work closely with the maintenance department to ensure vehicles that require preventative maintenance is no dispatched; and ensure all operators have completed "before, during, and after" checks on vehicles. You will issue and ensure daily Trip Tickets are issued and the data entered, as required, using computer and local dispatching program software. You will be responsible for all timecards for temporary drivers and examine them for proper employee identification and basic information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Dispatching a variety of vehicles to meet specific work requirements, inputting data into transportation computer system(s), issuing trip tickets, maintaining requirements for time and labor cards, and performing clerical support.
