Colorado Rocky Mountain School Part-Time Evening Cook in Carbondale, Colorado
The Colorado Rocky Mountain School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. As a Cook at our boarding school, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious and delicious meals to our students. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently with limited supervision and possess excellent culinary skills.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals for students, faculty, and staff in accordance with the school's dietary guidelines and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including storage areas and equipment. Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times. Assist with meal service and ensure that students are served promptly and courteously. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service. Communicate effectively with school administration, staff, and students.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a school, institutional, or restaurant setting is helpful. Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques. Experience in catering and banquets is a plus. Spanish language proficiency highly recommended. Must be able to pass a background check. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Semi-flexible schedule to work Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Working hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Safety Hazards Of The Job: Stand for extended periods of time, frequently walk or crouch for extended periods of time on narrow and slippery surfaces. Closed-toe shoes are required. Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, sufficient manual dexterity and eye hand coordination to use a variety of tools and equipment; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication.
