Position Summary:

The Strategy Manager is an important role within Hach that will work closely with the Sr. Director of Strategy, the VP of Strategy, the President, and the entire Hach Leadership team to define Hach’s strategy. This position works on a global team of highly talented associates to drive the efficiency and long-term commercial success of Hach’s broad portfolio of solutions including instruments, chemistries, software and services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and develop plans to accelerate business growth and profitability through mergers, acquisitions, Water Quality Segment collaboration, and organic opportunities.

  • Develop a priority market lens that guides Hach on areas to focus and collaborate with external organizations to drive share capture and market leading growth. Key focus on market sizes, growth rates, call points, fit to Hach portfolio and macro trends.

  • Partner with Hach’s global leadership and strategic teams to develop a global view that takes into account market specific trends and opportunities in North America, Latin America, Europe, MEA, APAC and China.

  • Develop an understanding of Hach’s product portfolio, strategic priorities, competitive position, gaps, and potential opportunities.

  • Support the Hach annual strategic planning processes and specific strategy initiatives across the company.

  • Evaluate white space opportunities for possible expansion through partnership, mergers, or acquisitions.

  • Investigate and provide analysis of competitors, partners, business models, market sizing, and industry trends through various methods (e.g., financial statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback, expert calls) to inform strategic business decisions & investments.

  • Liaise with external market research firms to conduct VOC to inform market work and develop strategic planning best practices.

  • Synthesize market data and competitor performance into insightful and data driven summaries and recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Build “Executive ready” project deliverables, including presentations for Veralto Senior Leadership at both the segment and corporate levels.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Drive the continuous improvement mindset through the Strategy team in further developing growth processes utilizing the Veralto Enterprise System.

  • Drives a culture of accountability and ownership.

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of work experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance working with strategic framework tools, industry analysis, and/or financial modeling. Prior valuation/deal experience is highly desirable.

  • Experience in a high tech, industrial or medical industry where consumables and a razor/razor blade model are the primary generators of revenue.

  • Highly Preferred location of less than 1 hour from Loveland, Colorado HQ.

  • Experience going through White Paper and Due Diligence exercise in pursuit of an M&A target.

  • Experience developing Global strategy in a collaborative and leadership position.

  • Experience developing content and presenting to an executive audience in a clear and succinct manner.

  • Experience working in a strategic fashion for a Global organization with $500M+ of annual sales

Skill Requirements

  • High level of strategic agility, excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to drive innovation.

  • Demonstrated learning agility and the ability to quickly grasp an understanding and command of the global water market: products, players, technologies, and contacts.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop partnership strategies that support organizational goals.

  • Understanding of the complexity of business needs and decision drivers within an organization. Must be able to consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, and probable consequences.

  • Strong qualitative (VOC) and quantitative (analytical modeling) assessment skills and experience, with the ability to interpret large amounts of information.

  • Proven capability to deliver results and drive strategic leadership within large scale organizations.

  • Ability to act proactively and drive multiple workstreams with limited supervision.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and sprit that drives continuous improvement.

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time; both domestic and international travel is required.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
