Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) at the US Army Garrison Carlisle Barracks in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veteran's Preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. Responsibilities Control access to restricted areas on the installation. Verify identification of personnel/vehicles to ensure security. Operate communication systems to share security information. Complete reports for entry into daily installation logs. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Access Control OperationsOral CommunicationPhysical SecurityWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
