Robert Half Payroll Manager in Carlsbad, California

Description We are seeking accomplished candidates with prior payroll management experience and immediate availability for a Payroll Manager position at our company in the Carlsbad, California area. A company in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance field currently has an opportunity for a position offered on a long-term contract / temporary basis.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Provide accurate information and replying to questions from senior executives and cross-functional business leaders

  • Oversee payroll operations as well as staff

  • Manage and complete payroll analysis

  • Consistently review and enhance processes by suggesting and leading projects

  • Oversee pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies

  • Start a team and work to make it successful

  • Work closely with other members of senior Finance leadership team

  • Observe and manage internal and external audits

  • In this role, you will complete all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Follow pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure amounts/deductions are correctly applied to a number of earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

  • Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

  • Oversee record keeping and control systems to provide internal safeguards Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable

  • Process Biweekly Payroll experience

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience

  • Adeptness in ADP Workforce Now

  • Process Bi-weekly Payroll experience preferred

  • Knowledge of payroll

  • Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification supported

  • Comfortable with multiple payroll applications

  • Know-how of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
