8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. Responsibilities Dakota Grower’s started out as a grower-owned cooperative built by farmers in the early 1990s and today we are the third largest pasta manufacturer in North America. Position Summary: This role is a unique opportunity for a highly-driven undergraduate to spend the summer with our maintenance department. The Electrical Maintenance internship offers a student the opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a manufacturing setting while gaining valuable first-hand experience working with state-of-the-art milling, pasta production, and packaging equipment.  Responsibilities and Duties: Assists in the maintenance of all electrical systems according to NEC standards Assists in the troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing of systems and equipment in the plant according to government standards Reads mechanical and electrical blueprints Performs basic electrical construction tasks Identifies machine parts and project materials needed to complete work Documents daily work in log book Other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Successful completion of at least 2 semesters of an accredited Electrician Associates Degree Program                Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must have experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT) Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment                              

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to sit and stoop for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to climb on and off a ladder for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in a dusty environment for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to work in confined spaces for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to push/pull for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to lift 11 to 50 pounds for 3+ hours per shift and anything over 50# will require team assistance or mechanical lifting devices. Must be able to lift up-to 10 pounds for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to work in high humidity for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to use fine motor skills including grasping and feeling for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, and express or exchange ideas by spoken and written word and distinguish object or equipment visually Must be able to operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift Must be able to wear a respirator as required
