About the Role:
The Yard Driver role at the Carrollton location is responsible for the safe driving of the hostler/yard truck, the transporting of trailers to and from the yard and dock doors and is responsible for the monitoring of all refrigerated units on the grounds. The Yard Driver will conduct periodic audits of the refrigerated trailers both on the yard and in dock doors. The Yard will report all trailers on the yard at least twice per shift by conducting a yard audit. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Safely and effectively operate the hostler/yard truck on the premises with little supervision.
Operate a walkie-talkie to make requested moves of trailers from door to yard or yard to door in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
Must be able to record the location of all trailers while on the premises and monitor the temperature of all refrigerated trailers. The hostler/yard driver must report any refrigerated trailers with temperatures that rise above 36 degrees for over 30 minutes.
The yard driver/hostler must report any damage to trailers/tractors or company property immediately to the supervisor on duty in the warehouse.
The yard driver/hostler must report any malfunctions or problems with the yard truckers as soon as the problem is noticed. The yard driver/hostler must report the problem to the warehouse supervisor on duty.
Maintain batteries for forklifts which includes watering, minor repairs, equalizing charge of batteries and cleaning batteries as well.
Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on 3rd shift, which operates from 9:00p to 5:30a Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Shift differential included.
About You:

High school graduate or GED equivalent
Commercial Driver´s License (CDL)
Three years of driving experience with CDL license.
