General Description
Subject Matter Expert for all aircraft airworthiness certification on Electronic Warfare and Military compliance requirements.
duties and responsibilities
- Evaluate Electronic Warfare operational airworthiness regulatory requirements and provide regulatory support.
- Prepare and ensure airworthiness certificates comply with FAA requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise support on Electronic Warfare certification requirements.
- Maintain open communication paths with the Director of Maintenance, Special Missions, and Military Contracts, as required.
- Seek solutions for complex regulatory situations that meet Phoenix Air Group, customer, and regulatory agency requirements in the most beneficial manner for all parties.
- Cultivate a positive relationship with the FAA and communicate proposed solutions and their compliance methods.
- Lead the certification liaison process with the Director of Maintenance, Special Missions, and Military Contracts.
- Plan, lead, and guide the aircraft certification activities on the Electronic Warfare contracts.
skills, competencies, education, certification, and/or licensure requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess FAA AandP Mechanic Certificate
- 10+ years of experience managing aircraft maintenance operations.
- 15+ years of experience with regulatory certification, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Experience in compliance activities for Transport Category airplane fleet authorizations, certifications, and continued airworthiness.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CFR 21, 23, 25, 26, 36, 43, 65, 91, 135, 145.
- Experience with airworthiness approval tags and working with the FAA, particularly the Flight Standard organization and its inspectors.
- Experience coordinating aviation maintenance inspections and continued airworthiness assessments in accordance with DCMA INST 8210.1C (Change 1).
- Demonstrated track record of managing highly trained technical personnel.
- Thorough understanding of Public Aircraft Operation requirements/procedures.
- Thorough understanding of TSO and STC certification processes.
- Thorough understanding of Electronic Warfare operations
- Should have a high degree of computer literacy. Specifically, required to be proficient in Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, partners, customers, and regulators.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
