As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to execute key stages of the product design process following established engineering best practices. So, what will you be doing as a Product Development Engineer?
Responsible for taking products from strategic concepts to market launch.
Effectively manage development projects to meet both design and timeline requirements.
Fully support manufacturing operations by preparing new products for a seamless handoff.
Work closely with sales and product management to convert market demands and concepts into production-ready products.
Proactively seek new materials, methods, and technologies with a focus toward products that provide distinct competitive advantage.
Design Proof of Concept (POC) and assist in the construction of prototypes.
Complete Design of Experiments (DOE). Compare and report product performance, cost, and development timelines.
Provide input for the development of new testing procedures.
Keep current knowledge of L&P product lines.
Provide world class customer service for both internal and external customers.
Provide management and executives with regular project updates.
Fully support a safe working environment.
Use project definitions to deliver solutions that achieve critical success factors through cross-functional collaboration
Release design documentation to clearly communicate product and component requirements
Support hands-on prototyping to bring concepts to life
Drive validation testing to ensure designs meet requirements
Research and investigate cutting-edge technologies to pursue innovative products, processes, and solutions
Moderate travel to include international locations
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Science, Materials or related. And/Or the equivalent experience in place of degree will be considered.
2-3 years of design experience in a component or product development environment
Experience designing consumer products preferred
Experience applying technologies to create products or subsystems as part of larger product design
Experience with CAD tools; 3D modeling and FEA experience preferred
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
