Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. Transplant, weed, thin and/or prune crops. Clean, pack and load harvested products. Construct trellises, repair fences and assist with maintenance of farm structures. Participate in irrigation activities, such as the setup and operation of irrigation equipment, clear and maintain irrigation ditches, and install water lines to sheds, barns, and other farm structures. Operate tractors, balers, swathes and other farm machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize the soil. Apply pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Workers may also be assigned additional agricultural duties, such as ditching, mowing, cutting, picking, baling, hoeing, shoveling, ground preparation, mechanized fieldwork, feeding of livestock and other tasks relating to the employer\'s farming business. Driver licenses are not required for driving farm vehicles. The employer will provide all tools and equipment necessary to perform all required tasks at no cost to employees. Work is performed outdoors and can involve exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, bright sunlight, cloudy, windy or rainy conditions, mud and dust, low light and other natural elements. The work may entail exposure to plant pollens, insects, snakes, rodents, noxious plants and/or plant materials that have been treated with insect and/or disease control spray. Workers must walk in variable soil conditions. Workers should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the working conditions described. Workers must use all required personal protective clothing and equipment. Position requires employees to interface and maintain effective relationships with all level of employees in a team-oriented environment, and the ability to frequently lift and move heavy objects. Workers must adhere to all health and safety rules and observe all warning signs, safety bulletins, safety training, posters and other safety directives required by the employer or state law.
