Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Family and Community Support Specialist in Cass Lake, Minnesota

Division: Education Reports to: Family & Community Partnership Manager Worksite: Early Childhood Facility (AOB) Work Hours: M-F. 8:00 am 4:30 pm LLBO Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes License/Certification Requirements: Must have a valid MN driver's license, current insurance or be insurable. Summary: Responsible for providing support for families in regards to family goal setting and attendance issues by building positive relationships and promoting family engagement. Duties/Responsibilities: Programmatic: Become familiar with the Head Start Performance Standards, Leech Lake Licensing, Leech Lake Early Head Start and Head Start Policies and Procedures, and the Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework. Attendance: Call each Head Start/Early Head Start center/classroom and Collect the daily attendance by 10:00 am daily. Follow the HSPS guidance and ECD Attendance policy(s) on follow up and reporting requirement. Enter the attendance into Child Plus and utilize data to identify children who are at risk for missing 10% or programming days. Family Partnership Agreement/Family Goals: Enter Family Partnership Agreement data into Child Plus. Compile Family Goals into spreadsheet and distribute by classroom. Assist Teacher/FSA and families to work towards meeting set goal. Family Engagement: Assist in planning and attend family engagement events and activities. Attend monthly parent meeting and/or policy council, when requested. Work with Teacher/FSA's to provide resources to families. Update and maintain resource directory. Organizational Duties: Assist with assembling enrollment packets and home visit folders. Scan and enter family and student information into Child Plus. Assist in maintaining EHS -IS student files to comply with Leech Lake Licensing Standards. Assist in recruitment efforts and follow-up on missing documents. Provide a weekly and monthly reports to the FCP Manager for reporting purposes. General: Promote the importance of Early Childhood among staff, parents and community. Promote and build positive relationships with families. Engage in on-going assessments to evaluate the quality of services being provided. Attend required meetings, trainings sessions, workshops and conference. Attend program activities outside normal working hours. Work cooperatively as a team member and promote teamwork with co-workers. Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times. Responsible for keeping work area neat and orderly. All other related duties as assigned by manager. Adhere to policies governing staff code of conduct. Clean background check.
