Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Summer Food Cook in Cass Lake, Minnesota
Position Description: Summer Food Cook Division: Early Childhood Reports to: Early Head Start Health & Summer Food Coordinator Worksite: Varies (7 different locations) Work Hours: M-Th, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm , Friday, 7:30am- 1:00pm License/Certification Requirements: Food Handler & Sanitation certification or ability to obtain. CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain. Valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or be insurable is preferred. Summary: Responsible for meeting required meal patterns, provide a sanitary environment and establishing good eating habits that promote healthy development. Minimum Education Requirements and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Work experience in cooking in a large setting preferred. Summer Food Service Program SFSP) Attend SFSP and Civil Rights Training prior to beginning program. Be knowledgeable and comply with SFSP Site monitoring. Be knowledgeable in SFSP Meal service, Meal Pattern, Menu planning and Serving Style. Be knowledgeable in SFSP Food Chart, portion sizes and creditable meals. Be knowledgeable in SFSP Diet Statements and Parent Decline Forms, have on file for participants who are unable to follow required meal pattern. Be knowledgeable with SFSP site rules and be able to enforce them. Ensure Food Production Record, Daily Meal Count and Weekly Consolidation Forms are completed daily and are accurate, ensure menu meets meal pattern requirement. Turn in all necessary paperwork weekly. Ensure SFSP and "And Justice for All" posters, WIC and "Building for the Future" information is prominently posted. Follow Cash Handling Policy and turn in money weekly with required paperwork. Complete Racial/Ethnic Form first week of service. Fieldtrip notice must be two weeks in advance, must ensuring there is a person responsible for meal count. Keep required paperwork and manuals on site (Site Supervisors Guide).
