Job Summary

This role requires both basic and advanced skills to operate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs at a mission-critical facility. Responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems such as HVAC systems, chillers, environmental cooling units, emergency generators, UPS systems, chillers, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing equipment, building management systems and other facility and grounds infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment, facilities and grounds paying attention to weather and other environmental conditions.

  • Perform repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records as required.

  • Complete work according to established processes and procedures, ensuring all safety processes, PPE requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standards are met.

  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operations of equipment, achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

  • Accompany vendors on site visits as needed, ensuring site standards are met.

  • Ensure that documents and logbooks are updated.

  • Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.

  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks. Works as a part of the engineering team.

Qualifications

•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience or trade school training.

•HVAC experience and Universal CFC certification preferred.

•Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.

•Ability to understand and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.

•Ability to tackle practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

•Uses personal computer and/or iPhone for work order system, email, ESS, and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.

•Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

•Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

•Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work.

Certificates and/or Licenses: CFC Certification desired

Communication Skills Ability to read, write, understand, and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.

Reasoning Ability Able to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot inoperable equipment. Requires basic analytical skills Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Other Skills and/or Abilities Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information.

*Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The salary range is $28 - $31 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
