Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Facilitator or designee is responsible to work on production assignments that are simple to moderately complex in nature. Uses independent judgment to plan, perform, make effective decisions, troubleshoot, and problem solve in areas on set up, operation, and processes of Plastic Bottle and Glass Bottle Lines. Performs simple to moderately complex machine mechanical troubleshooting to Sensor Lines (Plastic or Glass), Manual Filling, and Formulation Equipment . Provides support to Production Operator II-B (Sensor Area) and Technician in the event of a major machine breakdown. Normally receives little instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments. Reads and interprets diagrams, schematics, and manuals to select parts, adjust and/or secure machinery. Analyzes and evaluates charts, and follows testing and inspection procedures. Mechanical aptitude needed to control machine operations including equipment repairs and logs in accordance with QSR, ISO and Safety and environmental regulations. Supports Production Operator II-B in the machine PM’s. Responsibilities

  1. Start up the equipment following procedures. Monitor quality of products to ensure production quality.

  2. Set up, start up and operate Plastic Bottles Automatic Filling Line or Glass Bottles Automatic Filling in accordance with applicable SOPs, SMPs and Safety regulations. Set up and operate (as required) other sensor related equipment like ovens, mixers, manual filling equipment, etc.

  3. Assure product is produced and identified according to procedure.

  4. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and manuals to select parts, adjust and/or secure machinery.

  5. Notify Shift Leader or Manufacturing Facilitator of any deviation from normal operation. Assist in troubleshooting.

  6. Supply raw materials to machine according to required frequency.

  7. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications in a timely fashion.

  8. Meet daily production goals to satisfy customer demand.

  9. Make machine adjustments as necessary during manufacturing to assure production yield and product expected quality.

  10. Perform simple to moderately complex machine mechanical troubleshoot to Sensor Lines (Plastic and Glass).

  11. Provide support to Technician in the event of a major machine breakdown.

  12. Follow testing, inspection, and simple equipment maintenance procedures.

  13. Use testing equipment and perform simple test equipment adjustments.

  14. Complete batch production device history records, as required.

  15. Maintain neat, accurate, and complete records, logs, manufacturing documentation, and other forms.

  16. Perform troubleshooting and problem solving in areas of set-up, operation and process, as required.

  17. Provide continuous attention to details during operations and apply creativity when approaching fairly routine processes.

  18. Train other associates in operation/simple repair of the equipment.

  19. Maintain machinery and area in a clean and orderly manner in accordance with QSR’s, department procedures and policies.

  20. Follow safety rules and regulations per company policies.

  21. Actively participate in Lean Activities.

  22. Follow Shift Leader or designee instructions for machine station assignment or duties.

  23. Able to rotate positions.

  24. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Industrial Technician or equivalent field.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, preferred.

Skills:

  • Able to read, write and understand English and Spanish.

  • Familiar with personal computers and basic use of Windows operating system, preferred.

  • Proficiency in mechanical skills desired.

Physical Demands:

  • ·May be exposed to noise, odors, and dust.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe practices in a continuous improvement environment

Work Environment:

  • Required to wear head covering, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes and ear plugs while performing functions in production areas. Must use appropriate protective equipment (e.g. disposable lab. coats and nitrile gloves) when handling manufacturing reagents and cleaning compounds.
