Tutoring Coordinator
Two Tutoring Coordinators collaborate to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of tutoring services with the goal of improving student success, retention, and degree completion. They coordinate tutoring services including drop-in, pre-scheduled one-on-one, and group tutoring. They supervise and provide training for approximately 70 student staff members (peer tutors) as well as carry out supportive office functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•
Coordinate a complex drop-in tutoring schedule and coordinates recurring one-on-one tutoring requests to ensure sufficient coverage for frequently requested courses/subjects.
•
Interviews, hires, orients, trains, observes, mentors, and evaluates tutors in order to deliver high quality tutoring assistance, ensure a positive student experience, and maintain ethical conduct/academic integrity.
•
Facilitate record-keeping across all services to ensure accurate reporting of program usage and program efficacy and work with the Executive Director to gather and analyze assessment/evaluation data.
•
Promote services through direct outreach to students, class visits, promotional events, etc.
•
Supports day-to-day operations of the Tutoring Center.
•
Manage Tutoring Center social media.
•
Assist in the maintenance of the Tutoring Center website.
•
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
•
Bachelor's degree required
•
Experience working in an office environment
•
Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or the Google suite of products (Docs, Sheets, and Gmail)
•
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
•
Ability to think critically and problem-solve
•
Excellent organization skills to coordinate and communicate a wide variety of details
•
Dependable, adaptable, and a willingness to learn
•
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•
Must possess a high degree of professionalism, initiative, creativity, tact, and privacy
•
Ability to engage with stakeholders such as students, student employees, faculty, staff, and administration to build community and collaborate
Preferred qualifications:
•
Master's degree preferred
•
Knowledge of or experience with tutoring and other student support programs preferred
•
Knowledge and experience with managing people
•
Content knowledge of high-demand discipline (math, chemistry, physics) preferred
