BAE Systems Sourcing Manager in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Job Description

The Component Distribution Sourcing Manager is responsible for team leadership, critical Supplier Relationship Management, and contract execution for the Cedar Rapids NSS BAE Systems' factory location. As the business focal point for a set of broad scope distribution suppliers, internal customer service mindset and clear supplier management improvement prioritization will be at the center of this work environment. Collaboration with Category Management peers, program and business area customers, as well as cross-functional stakeholders will be required to successfully shape this newly defined leadership role.

Performance

  • Provide vision and leadership to assist the team in meeting performance objectives, including:

  • Supplier Delivery Performance, material cost productivity, transactional automation growth, integrated supplier service model value, along with a set of leading indicator KPI

  • Develop and communicate 1-5 year vision and strategy in accountable areas that is supportive of business competitiveness and growth objective.

  • Ensure effective systems and frameworks are in place to support team performance objectives

  • Ensure team responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and compliance requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement in all facets of team performance

Relationships

  • Business area focal for critical Supplier Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with category management personnel on process and project work

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, internal and external

  • Collaborate with other functions: engineering, supplier quality, finance, programs

Team Leadership

  • Maintain a team that is structured correctly

  • Continuously evaluate and develop skillsets both individually and as a collective team

  • Identify and drive development needs, including coaching, mentoring and training requirements

  • Drive collaboration within team and with other teams

  • Define and clarify roles and responsibilities for team

  • Collaborate with other team leaders, when necessary, to ensure team is supported with adequate staff/resources

  • Establish an effective communications framework throughout the team

  • Address personnel issues, partnering with Human Resources when necessary

  • Drive a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, safety, and overall workforce integrity

  • Reward and recognize direct reports and support their career development, including plans and providing opportunities for growth

Compliance

  • Create environment of compliance, and provide training where needed

  • i.e. FAR/DFAR, Electronic Systems Procurement Procedures, Cyber-security, Export, Safety, AS9100, etc.

  • Create and implement successful supplier audit program

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 8 years or more of directly related work experience preferably in a government-contracting environment.

  • People Leader experience more than 3 years.

  • Familiarity with defense industry & regulations and the understanding of the role of subcontractors in complex industries.

  • Experience leading major procurement efforts.

  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements.

  • Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation)

  • Understanding/knowledge of CPSR audits and requirements.

  • Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis/process.

  • Strong working experience generating, negotiating and executing major subcontracts and long term agreements.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual conflicts with subcontractors through negotiations and contractual vehicles.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $112800 - $191800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
