Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description
This position will work cross-functionally to support the start-up of a new facility in Cedar Rapids. The role will lead efforts to add thermoforming and plastic trimming processes to the new site. The Process Engineer will provide hands-on expertise as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team. Responsibilities include specifying, purchasing, installing, and starting up new assets for the fabrication of thermoformed parts. After the start-up is completed, the role will focus on maintaining production performance and executing continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities
Support the start-up of the new Cedar Rapids facility.
Lead efforts to add thermoforming and plastic trimming processes.
Specify, purchase, install, and start up new assets for thermoformed parts fabrication.
Maintain production performance post start-up.
Identify and execute continuous improvement projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
4+ years of manufacturing experience with process engineering on sheet metal and plastic equipment
Experience with Lean Methodologies or Continuous Process Improvement
Proficiency in CAD/AutoCAD software
Understanding of plastics properties
Experience in functional safety lifecycle
Project Management skills
Work Environment
The first year will be 100% office-based for process planning and analysis. Once equipment arrives, the role will be 100% on the floor to get machines up and running. Following this, the role will transition to focus more on continuous improvement and capital projects. The work environment will involve new building and start-up activities, with opportunities for career growth and stability.
